Following on the footsteps of his older brother Felipe’s win in the Abu Dhabi Fighting Championships two weeks ago, Yasubey put all of his fighting skills on display this past weekend in Japan as he defeated former Shooto legend Taisuke Okuno in the semifinals of the prestigious Sengoku Welterweight Grand Prix tournament.

Both brothers are Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand alumni.

Okuno came into the fight highly regarded after his impressive KO over former Bodog Champion Nick Thompson.

Yasubey showed improved stand-up as he out-boxed, and generally outclassed his Japanese opponent over the course of a very lopsided 3 round decision.

Winning the other side of the tournament bracket was Keita “K-Taro” Nakamura.  The two will face each other at Sengoku 16 December 30th in Japan.
