Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Phuket Alumni Kotetsu Boku is no stranger to adversity. The former Shooto Pacific Rim Lightweight Champion has been a member of the Kid Yamamoto fight team ‘Crazy Bee’ and with notable wins against Hermes Franca, Tony Hervey, and Alexandre Franca Nogueira was riding a 4 fight win streak into his highly anticipated matchup with UFC and DREAM veteran Kuniyoshi Hironaka.
Looking to join Kid Yamamoto with a possible UFC contract after a showdown against Hironaka, Boku instead found himself on the losing end of a unanimous decision when the final bell rang this past weekend at Shooto ‘Shootor’s legacy 3’ event this past weekend in Japan. A talented boxer, Boku watched is professional record drop to 18-7-2 as he struggled against the takedowns of Hironaka.
Despite the disappointing setback look for Kotetsu Boku to return to Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Phuket later this year with fellow Japanese Standout and MMA Manager Kengo Wantanabe.
