It was only a matter of time that the folks over at Strikeforce saw the amazing abilities of Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp Phuket, Thailand alum Cat Zingano (6-0).

The American, who has been ranked as the #1 female MMA fighter at 125 lbs and was voted Female Fighter of the Year in Colorado last year, will square up against Amanda Nunes (7-2 ) on September 29.

“As soon as you get to Tiger Muay Thai, it just draws you in, and I want to do everything,” Zingano told TMT earlier this year. She was here celebrating her wedding anniversary with her husband, Mauricio Zingano, and their son Brayden. While here, both Mauricio and Cat put on seminars.

Zingano was originally scheduled to fight in the Invicta FC 3 event on October 9, but with the latest move to Strikeforce the powers that be have agreed to let her out of her contract with the promotion. The Invicta FC 3 card will also include two other TMT alumni – Sarah D’Alelio and Elaina Maxwell.

The last time Zingano came to TMT, she ended up training for and winning her first Muay Thai fight in Thailand with a KO in the second round.
