With an overall Martial Combat fight record of 12 wins, 3 losses Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand won two out of the three superfight belts we competed for on ESPN.  Martial Combat is Asia’s number one Mixed Martial Arts promotion, broadcasting their fights in 24 countries to over 310 million homes.  ESPN STAR Sports oversees the production of Martial Combat.

Highlights of the season included Claire Haigh’s two FOTN honors, WEC Vet Muhsin Corbbrey, STRIKEFORCE VET Joe Ray’s two KO’s, MMA Instructor Ray Elbe’s 2-0 performance, Ross Dallow becoming the first Aussie to win inside the Martial Combat cage, and Brayden Summers picking up his first International win in his young 3-0 professional career.

Claire Haigh defeated Eilleen Forrest.  Eilleen was making her professional MMA debut, after racking up an 18-2 Muay Thai record.  Showcasing amazing standing elbows, several perfectly timed knees, and good punching combinations, Claire was coasting to an easy lead on the scorecards. Wanting to finish the bout, Claire attempted her first takedown, landing in side control before securing mount and getting the RNC off a scramble.

MagicalRay Elbe faced K-1 and PRIDE FC Journeyman Shannon “The Cannon” Ritch.  Shannon is a veteran of over 150 professional MMA fights and is a BJJ Black Belt under Dan Gonzales of Texas, who is a member of the Carlos Machado lineage. After a brief feeling out period Elbe rushed Shannon who got a tight body lock, before slamming Ray to the mat.  On the transition Ray quickly secured the Triangle Choke, forcing UFC 110 Ref Steve Purcivelle to stop the fight via a technical submission when Shannon was choked unconscious.
