She’s considered as a motivational, approachable fitness coach with a great sense of humor here at Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp.

Meet our Fitness Coach Jenna Barnard, raised in the Southwest of England, “Where the Cornish pasties and cream teas helped guide me to an active lifestyle path,” She jokes.
Jen is always on the go, and has always had a healthy appetite for any sport or physical activity from a young age.
“I have always been an active person, my father is a football coach and I have three brothers. I loved every type of sport but my problem was focusing on one thing. I wanted to do everything!”
Jenna’s first job within the fitness industry was at the age of 15. She worked part time in a gym outside of shool hours. Cleaning sweat from machines and signing people in and out, “nothing glamorous,” Jen says.
“I loved speaking with the customers, seeing them lose weight, gain muscle, run faster, run for longer, smile more. I started studying health and fitness as soon as I finished school and have never looked back. I am continuously educating myself. I thrive on the achievements of those around me as well as my own. The more I learn the more I can help people achieve.”
When it comes to other hobbies, this is what Jen has to say.
“Hmm, maybe I should get another hobby. When I’m not training myself, studying or training others I’ll be hanging out with friends. 99% of the time I’ll encourage them to do something active, a leisurely cycle, kayak, hike. Right now living in Phuket paradise there are so many places to see and things to do, it’s easy.”
And when cheat day calls, it’s hot chocolate brownie and ice cream thats winning combination!
Jenna has had a number of impressive accomplishments as an athlete and a coach.
“My first fitness competitions as an adult came in the form of half marathons, I loved the head space I got from long distance running but felt there wasn’t enough food in the world to keep my weight on with the miles I would run every week, I was wasting away.”
Her passion now lies with CrossFit.
“I love the complete rounded athlete it produces and CrossFit competitions are by far the best I’ve ever felt competing.”
As a Coach Jens favourite accomplishments come from weeks of pre-season training with many different sports teams including football, hockey and rugby.
“Seeing the team you’ve been beasting for weeks before the start of the season go out and win because they are fitter and stronger is a great feeling as their fitness coach.”
And what pushes Jenna to go achieve her goals?
“My three brothers have a huge impact on driving me forward. My older brother works incredibly hard and sets a great example as to where hard work can get you. He drives me towards my dreams without even trying to and I want to do the same for my two younger brothers.”
“I truly believe you can do whatever you want and be whoever you want if you put in the work. I want to show my brothers this is true to encourage them to do the same.”
Jen believes that investing in a healthy lifestyle is investing in yourself and that everyone must invest in themselves.
“Health and fitness is not just physical , more than anything it’s mental. Discipline, confidence, self-belief, the want for more. Exercise isn’t just strengthening your body it strengthens your mind. Your body achieves what your mind believes.”
For Jenna, what makes her go beyond her limits is doing the stuff that scares her.
“I love doing stuff that scares me, reminding me I’m alive and I can do anything ! From Sky diving, Bungee jumps, to holding snakes and spiders, anything that scares me I want to do and will do it!”
