Influx of Korean MMA Fighters

Diversity is never strange to the mixed martial arts room at Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp. Recently there has been an influx of South Korean MMA fighters to add to the mix.

Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC), mixed martial artist, Kyung Ho Kang, (12-7) is currently in Phuket, Thailand training for his upcoming UFC bout. Accompanying him is fellow South Korean fighter, Nam Jin Jo(8-6) training for his title shot in Road FC.

Better known by his fight name, “Mr. Perfect,” Kang lost his UFC debut by decision to Chico Camus. Earlier this year, Kang got his first UFC win by arm triangle submission as he defeated an experienced fighter in Shunichi Shimizu, who has nearly forty fights.

Kang has signed his next fight to take on submission artist and The Ultimate Fighter 18 Team Rousey vs. Team Tate bantamweight winner, Chris Holdsworth. They will face off at UFC 173, headlined by a title fight with UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and challenger, Lyoto Machida. Also on the card are dangerous heavyweights, Junior Dos Santos and Stipe Miocic.

The bouts are to take place in Las Vegas, United States on May 24, 2014.

Flyweight, Nam Jin Jo’s main strength is his Brazilian Jiujitsu, where his explosive takedowns and superior grappling make him an especially dangerous opponent.

Jo has fought in such promotions as Road FC and Legend FC. Jo has won his last two bouts and is currently training for a title shot in Road FC in May.
