Being all the way in Thailand, wasn’t going to stop Australian Moey Alhaje from helping out a dear friend. Alhaje’s friend, Tohi Leha, died from Metastatic Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer at the age of 24. Tohi Leha was a father of four and the sole provider for his family.

On the same date in Sydney they were having a fundraiser for the family. “Because I’m not there, I felt like I needed to be doing something to make a contribution to the family,” said Alhaje.

Alhaje set out to do a twelve-hour crossfit challenge. One crossfit style workout every hour for twelve hours to help raise money for his friend. “Tohi battled for a year,” said Alhaj. “Twelve hours is nothing.”

“I thought I was just going to be doing this on my own, but I saw the support from the Tiger community and I’m overwhelmed with the turnout.” said Alhaje. “So much love.”

Over 25 people participated in the full twelve hour session from the first session at 6:30 a.m. At least 30 more jumped in for a few sessions as well throughout the day.
Fellow participant, Michelle Marson, joined in the full twelve hour session as well. “This is in memory of Tohi, but also for other people who has or had cancer,” said Marson. “Everyone has been affected by cancer.”
