Advanced Muay Thai Training Program

Our Muay Thai / Thaiboxing advanced program is open to training camp guests with a solid background and experience in Muay Thai and/or other martial arts.

Many of the guests in this program have come to Tiger Muay Thai to prepare for a Muay Thai / Thaiboxing, MMA, or Boxing fight here in Thailand or abroad.

The “Fighters Training” program is extensive, concentrating more on ring skills, discipline, and cardio / endurance / stamina for a 5-round fight. This program demands extreme commitment and effort from guests.

Running, sparring, ring, pad, and bag drills are all part of the training, and each session guests will spend a minimum of 5 rounds on the bags, 3-5 rounds sparring, and 5 rounds doing pad work with a trainer each session.

Training Schedule 2 X daily 7.00 a.m. – 11.0 a.m. & 4.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m.

Yoga 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

At Tiger Muay Thai we begin every morning at 7:00 a.m. with an hour of yoga on the mats with our training camp instructor. Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, work on your balance, and prevent injuries while training. Guests are welcome to do yoga for 1/2 hour and switch into the running program or technique class when they begin at 7:30 a.m.

Boot Camp Fitness program7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

The Boot camp fitness program concentrates on cardio, stamina, endurance traiining aerobic and anaerobic style for fitness and weight-loss using a variety of exercise techniques including calisthenics, kettle bells and more. This is a great way to start the day before Muay Thai / Thai boxing training and MMA program.

Running Program 7:30 a.m. -8:00 a.m. + 3:30 p.m. -4:00 p.m.

Every morning at 7:30 a.m., Tiger Muay Thai trainers and guests leave the camp for a variety of runs, including sprints and mountain running, from 2-6 km. Running is an excellent way to improve your endurance and cardio / stamina. The average Thai fighter training for an upcoming match will often run 10+ kilometers a day, usually in the morning before the heat sets in

Warm-Up (Stretching / Shadow Boxing / Skip Rope) 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. & 3:30 pm. – 4:00 p.m.

From 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. guests warm-up by stretching, shadow boxing, tire jumping and skipping rope. After everyone has thoroughly warmed-up, the trainers begin helping guests wrap their hands and prepare for Muay Thai bag and pad training.

Technique Class8:00 a.m – 9:00 a.m. + 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Muay Thai and boxing technique classes allow guests to learn in a relaxed environment and receive extra one-on-one time. The curriculum covers everything from basic Muay Thai / Thaiboxing to advanced training techniques including offense, defense, footwork, balance, generating power, and more. The technique classes allow guests to learn the core Muay Thai structure, practice new skills and expand on their training overall.

Muay Thai Bag / Pads / Drills Training 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. & 4:30 pm. – 6:30 p.m.

The main 2-hour training period focuses on a weekly program schedule that provides 5 rounds on different bags, 5 one-on-one pad rounds with a trainer, 3-5 rounds of sparring, and 3-5 rounds of Muay Thai drills and skill focus in groups with other guests and trainers.The intermediate program is designed to be more difficult and intense than the beginner and intermediate programs. As part of the core training program, the trainers will be adamant about improving the guests physical stamina and endurance, technique and speed / power with an emphasis on ring control and sparring skills.

Sparring: Muay Thai & Boxing Monday – Wednesday – Friday

Sparring is an essential part of Muay Thai and Thai Boxing training. From 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. every M-W-F, Tiger Muay Thai trainers direct sparring sessions with guests. Sparring is done at 75% speed and power, and guests wear shin, mouth and head guards to prevent injury. It is mandatory in the Advanced training program and will help guests to understand Muay Thai as a fight sport and gain experience in the ring while utilizing their skills against a real opponent.

Stretch / Relax / Cool Down / Rehydrate 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m & 6:30 pm. – 7:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged and welcome to incorporate free weights and lifting into their training program. Tiger Muay Thai has 3 complete sets of dumbbells, kettlebells, 2 olympic benches, pull down multi-machines, a squat rack, exercise bikes and more available to our guests in each ring and the weight lifting gym run by a professional fitness and weight-lifting trainer.
