Robert Lek and Chang scored points wins in their fights at Soi Tan Stadium, Patong, Thailand on May 9, 2008. The Tiger Muay Thai trainers dominated the fights, and TMT's newest Muay Thai fighter, Chang, from Sisiket, looked good in his first fight in Phuket.

Cyrus Washington came to Thailand for one reason: to train and fight Muay Thai. In his first fight in Thailand, Cyrus scored a quick first round Ko winning with a 1st round Ko and breaking his opponents arm with a hard throw from the clinch.

Ritt, after winning 7-fights-in-a-row, has come short in last 3 fights on points as a hand injury continues to bother the strong young fighter. Ritt fought hard for 5-rounds and showed he has kicking skills to go with his hands, but lost a close decision on points.

Tiger Muay Thai guests and fans of Muay Thai boxing were given a great night of fights at the Grand opening of Patong;s newest Muay Thai stadium as TMT Phuket went 2-1 for the night.
Robin continued his impressive winning streak and continues to raise his level of competition. Robin scored a first round KO over a veteran Thai fighter that Robins own trainer, Kru Robert fought just last year.

Neung continued his winning streak (4) with a points decision over a fast and hard kicking WMC opponent from Ko Samui, but Neungs boxing skills proved too much to handle as he won a decisive points decision.

In perhaps the fight of the night, Nan took on an excellent opponent and battled hard for 5-rounds drawing cheers from the crowd for an exciting Women's Muay Thai fight. The two Thai fighters went at it hard for 5-round with kicks, elbows, good clinch and overall skills. Nan lost the fight but gained a lot of experience and we will certainly be seeing these two fighters in the ring against each other again soon.

Danny spent 2+ months training in the advanced Muay Thai program and ring for his fight. The owner of Evolution Fight Center in Costa Rica, Danny was looking for more than "average training" he WANTED to be taught Muay Thai by the guys who learned and earned their Muay Thai experience in the ring.
Danny's training with Kroo Yod and the rest of the advanced trainers showed Danny what Advanced Muay Thai is all about through technique class, clenching, sparring, pad work, bag work, medicine ball training and circle training "Old-fashioned" Muay Thai style which forces a person training to increase their cardio.
Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp wants to Thank Danny for all his support and good words concerning his experience here at TMT Phuket and interaction with our trainers. Next time I am in Costa Rica, I will make plans to spend time training there and TMT is hoping to send one of trainers to Evolution for a 3-4 month Muay Thai Seminar with a Tiger Muay Thai Champion Trainer.
Evolution Fighting Center - First ones in kickboxing in Costa Rica
The guy I fought was 6-0 and a state champion wrestler. The fight went all 3 rounds, but i won every round mostly by ground and pound, but landed some solid knees and punches. I fight again on the 7th for the number 1 contendership and the winner fights the champion who I already have a win over.

First Danny Hoyer wins the "Warrior of the Week" award at TMT for his discipline and hard training in the MMA program as he prepares for his MMA fight back home. Then Danny goes back home and wins BIG. Danny won his fight in first round via ground-n-pound against opponent from German Best Team.

Damo has been to the Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp 4-times, the last time his concentration was on MMA which is growing rapidly around-the-world, including Ireland. Damo won his first MMA fight. Ahead on points and winning the fight, his opponent resorted to 2-head butts (illegal) and Damo was awarded the win. Now Damo is set to challenge the current Champion and has chosen TMT to prepare for his fight for nearly 2-months and represent Team MMA Thailand along with his home gym in Ireland.

TMT: Can you tell us about your background in Gracie BJJ?
Mauricio: I trained in Brazil for a period of about 9 years, my teachers are, Hugo Carioni, Saldanha and Glauco. All black belt formed by the Master Crolin Gracie.
TMT: What accomplishments and tournaments have you competed?
Mauricio: I qualified fight in 3 championships for world followed, in 2004 in the blue belt, 2005 and 2006 in the purple belt, I was state champion 3 times and 1 time in the blue stripe and 1 time in purple belt. 2-times in the purple, and 2006 champion South Brazilian purple belt open class.

TMT: What are BJJ fighters like in Brazil?
Mauricio: Certainly, in Brazil we have great fighters, and people know that and expect see a good show of Brazilian fighters, mainly in BJJ .Gracie Jiu-jitsus has changed the way people look at grappling and the respect for BJJ.
TMT: How do you like the MMA and Muay Thai environment here at TMT Phuket ?
Mauricio: I much I thank the opportunity to see a training academy as Tiger Muay ThaI with great fighters and I believe I will evolve much in my jiu- jitsu here training with Ray Elbe, both with gi and No GI.
TMT: What do you think of adding Muay Thai to your arsenal of skills?
Mauricio: I never trained Muay Thai before in my whole life, I believe the time and start to learn to fight in Thai-style is now because in the world when it comes to MMA people must know the striking part of the game that comes from Muay Thai.
TMT: How is it being a part of the famous Gracie Jiu-jitsus tradition
Mauricio: I identify a lot with the Gracie family, I had the opportunity to spend 3 seasons coaching with them in Rio de Janeiro, it has been through them that jiu jitsu was recognized and proven to be important part of Mixed martial art most effective in the world. A fighter can never fight MMA without knowing BJJ and Gracie family is #1 in teaching BJJ.
TMT: What about your personal life? What do you like to do?
Mauricio: Surfing is my second favorite sport after jiu jitsu, in my hometown in Brazil, Florian'opolis is excellent for surfing grew up surfing in the beautiful beaches of the world, yet could not surf in Phuket because the waves are not very favorable, but brought my surf board and so when waves are better I will go down to Kata beach and try the surf here in Phuket.
TMT: What do you think about the training in tropical Thailand?
Mauricio: Very hard training at Tiger Muay Thai here in Thailand, and I believe a fighter can achieve his goals to learn not only Muay Thai, but Jiu-jitsus as well. Ray Elbe is very good BJJ trainer. The climate here is very hot and makes training more difficult. But I am enjoying
learning and adapting and am with my new instructor of MMA and
the gi Ray Elbe, he is great MMA fighter not just stand up but excellent on the ground.

It was the grudge match. They were 1-1 each other. The WMC Champion put his belt on the line against Robert's Bangla Championship and stepped into the Muay Thai ring.
Robert started off slow using strategy. In the 3rd round, Robert exploded with speed and power slashing the WMC champ and opening a almost 2 inch cut on his forehead with a hard elbow. Blood streaming down his face, the Ko Samui fighter was dominated by Robert in last 3-rounds as mUay Thai style the refs had seen enough in round 5 and cut the final round time.

Congratulations to Robert and Tiger Muay Thai. Robert has looked fantastic after cutting 5 kilo and dropping a weight class and has won his last 5 fights 4 by KO. Robert is awarded his belt by visiting Pro MMA fighter Muhsin Corbbrey training @ Tiger Muay Thai and MMA for his fight with Nick Diaz.

TMT: How old are you and what is your name?
Robin: Robin Strandburg, I am 22, and from Stockholm Sweden.
TMT: What are your goals as a Muay thai fighter?
Robin: Fighting at Lumpinee and / or Rajadamnoen Stadium would be an honor. The Queen and King's Cup ar also high on my list an a part of my dream as a Muay thai fighter, but my main goal since I started this sport is to be all that I can possibly be. I think the only way to achieve my dreams in a sport like Muay thai is o train as hard as I can and always strive for perfection.
TMT: Why have you chosen Muay Thai as your fight sport of choice?
Robin: I have been interested in Martial Arts for a long as I can remember. After doing Judo and Te Kwon Do, I tried to Muay Thai an it turned out to be just right for me. I think it is a beautiful art-form and it makes me feel good physically and mentally.

TMT: You are 4-0 in your Muay Thai fights and the level of your opponents is starting to rise; How do you feel about that?
Robin: Better opponents and more fights will result in ore experience. Whether I win or lose i will always learn something useful from it. Personally, I think that i am ready for better competition.
TMT: How do you like training at Tiger Muay Thai Training Camp and being a part of the fight team?
Robin: Tiger is without a doubt the best gym I've ever trained in. The trainers are very good at what they do, the gym is fresh and well equipped and the atmosphere is very positive. Being a part of the fight team is an honor of course and it's nice to represent more than just myself when I step in the ring.
TMT: Who is your favorite Tiger Muay Thai Trainer and whY?
Robin: Kroo Robert. He has been working with me one-on-one from the start and my development in 5 months has been amazing. He is a very detailed trainer One of the things that make him such a good trainer is his perfectionism. He is detailed about everything and teaches an aggressive style of fighting which suits me very well. I also appreciate the variation of his training. Some days he really pushes me to the limit while others we do very technical sessions. It all depends on how I feel an how mi fights are scheduled. He is a great fighter and a wonderful trainer. he inspires me.
TMT: What are your strengths in the rung?
Robin: My greatest advantage is of course my height. I feel strong in the clinch and think my knees are very powerful, but I know that Muay thai ia a fight sport where you have to be good at everything. Good technique and power is nothing without cardio. What I am trying to say s that in the ring, being complete is essential.
TMT: What skills do you need to work on?
Robin: I think I need more experience fighting with full Thai rules. i also need to learn more about strategic elements of Muay Thai.
TMT: Would you recommend TMT to other young Swedish fighters looking to become professional Muay Thai and or MMA fighters?
Robin: Of course. My 5 months at Tiger Muay Thai has given me more experience than I expected. This has been an amazing experience to me.
TMT: Please explain your emotional experience you had preparing, training, and entering the Muay thai ring the first time?
Robin: The moment when I get the news that a fight was scheduled for me in 3 weeks I trained as hard as I could. It really motivated me and I kicked the pads harder that I have ever done. After, Robert and I sat down and scheduled out a training program for the fight. Three weeks went by quick and I was ready for the fight and in the best shape ever. At the night of the fight before the actual fight, i wasn't nervous at all. Ready would be the right word to describe how i was feeling. After getting my hands wrapped, getting massage with Muay thai liniment and warming up, it was about 10 minutes to go. Still feeling calm, Robert and I went over some basic stuff, remember this and remember that, relax, and so on. I actually don't remember to much about the fight. i remember that it was over a lot quicker than I had visualized. My first win in Thailand. It was an amazing feeling.

Nai was tired of working at "that gym down the street" and decided it was time to upgrade to Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp. Nai was that gym's best trainer and fighter and has now joined TMT as our 22nd instructor. Nai is a Muay Thai Champion with more than 200+ fights and is quite happy to have joined TMT as his new gym.
Kroo Nai looked good wearing Tiger Muay Thai White, orange, and black as he dismantled his opponent on points before breaking his opponents hand with a solid kick to the wrist as his opponent tried to block a kick to the head.

Kroo Manoon (World WMC Muay Thai and European Champion) wins his fight in the 2nd round with a powerful leg kick to his much taller opponent. Manoon set up the fighter going high then going low before landing a solid powerful kick to the thigh of his opponent that left him on the mat unable to stand.

April 11th
Gilles "Lord Evil" Bourguignon
Giles is from France and has been working hard in the MMA program. He trained twice a day and worked hard on his grappling and striking skills. Look for Giles to return back to the French fight scene with some added moves too his game. Gille was an excellent training partner and gave 110% at every MMA Workout session. Thanks's Gille. It was a pleasure having you at TMT Phuket's MMA and Muay Thai programs.
It was an exciting fight for 3-rounds before Nazee's age began to catch up along with his leg injury before getting stopped in the 4th round by the young K1 style fighter. Nazee dominated the first 3-rounds giving the younger, stronger, and heavier fighter a lesson in real Muay Thai, but got caught with his hands down in 4th for the TKO. Age falls before youth, however, as an instructor of Muay Thai, Nazee is second to none with a wealth of experience from 20 years of fighting in the ring and a brutal fight-style of Muay Thai.

April 4th
Jeremy recently competed in the Lordz of Pain grappling tournament held in Singapore. Jeremy came to Tiger Muay Thai with no grappling experience. He has been training hard in the morning beginner class working on his personal fitness. Working hard, Jeremy has lost close to 10lbs, and has gained a ton of confidence. Last Sat. Jeremy participated in a smoker MMA fight, losing a split dec. looking forward to seeing how Jeremy does in Manila!!!
It wan Nan's night as she led the way with a great win over her foreign opponent that had 4 inches and a few kilo on her, but Nan controlled the clinch and scored with her knees to win the points decision.
Neung battled for 5-rounds with a young and fast fighter. Neung looked for his hand and kick combo's that are devastating, but could not find the reach and lost a close fight on points. Good fight.
Jonas and Paul, TMT Phuket fighters scored a pair of KO's at Patong Stadium on April 1, 2008 as Jonas (Sweden) and Paul (England) were on the fight card.

Paul went to war with his opponent in a close fight. Giving of more than 25+ fights experience to the Thai, Paul used his training and cardio / stamina to fight hard and score a 5th round KO over his Thai opponent.

Jonas, in his first Muay Thai fight, went up against a shorter but more skilled veteran fighter from Krabi. Jonas showed that 4 months of training with Robert in the advanced Muay Thai ring was all he needed as he scored a 1st round KO, dropping his opponent two-times with body shots and a solid right hook before referee stepped in to stop the fight.
