This Saturday, August 23, 2014, is another big night in Phuket as the Full Metal Dojo MMA Fight night is happening once again in Thailand’s Pearl of the South.
Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp will be represented by Michael Dubois and Jason Ponet
Michael Dubois is from Geneva Switzerland and also fights out of Icon Jiu-Jitsu under Anderson Pereira. He has also a Judo Blackbelt and been training since the age of 4. HIs first amateur MMA fight was at the age of 18.
Michael heard about TMT from Rafael Pinto who also fights under Tiger.
” Rafael advised me to go to Tiger and I don’t regret it, I improved a lot here and met awesome people. I like training at Tiger because there are a lot a really good fighters from around the world fighting in big organizations like UFC and ONE FC so it’s a good opportunity for me to train and spar with them.”
Michael’s last fight was at Full Metal Dojo 1, a fight which he accepted with only one day notice against Glenn Sparv, an experienced fighter with over 12 professional fights. Dubois will be facing Trestle Tan 2-2 for his next Full Metal Dojo fight.
He is also sponsored by Icon Jiu-Jitsu and Reflex Nutrition.
Jason Ponet is a two time National Champion and Mediterranean Champion with a record of 14-8-1.
He is in a six win streak this year as well. His home camp is Impacts Aquitane in Bordeaux France.
Jason is also a Wushu Sanda Practitioner and a Sports teacher.
He ended up at Tiger Muay Thai due to a friend that came over to a camp 2 years ago.
” It’s the best place in Phuket for MMA training said my friend and so I listened to him and flew over. The size and the quality of training and coaches makes it a really good place for a fighter.”
Ponet will be up against Glenn Sparv from Finland and is fighting out of Team Quest.
