Asia’s biggest MMA promotion, ONE FC, held their event this past Friday in Manila, Philippines, with two of Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp Phuket, Thailand alums winning their bouts.

Shannon “One Shin” Wiratchai (3-0) scored a massive boost for his professional career when he defeated Mitch “The Dragon” Chilson (3-2) in the second round via TKO.

After spending most of the first round on his back, Wiratchai opened the second round with several high left kicks. He dropped Chilson, a 34 year-old American, with a strong right hook which was followed up with a soccer kick to the head, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

The victory is the biggest in Wiratchai’s career, after coming into the fight an underdog, and will certainly help boost Thailand’s profile in the MMA world. He returned to Thailand this evening (Sept. 1st) to celebrate with his trainers at BBQ Beatdown 51. The crowd went wild as he humbly thanked everyone for their support during his training camp at Tiger Muay Thai.

The New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni (15-15) took care of business in the next fight, taking on Rodrigo “Ximbica” Ribeiro (9-9) in the octagon. Baroni finished the fight within one minute of the first round with a barrage of punches and several soccer kicks.

Baroni’s victory, also ending in a TKO, is his first win at ONE FC after losing in the promotion’s first event in September 2011.

Multiple-time guest, Felipe Enomoto, fought a tough bout that went the distance and used several techniques he taught at a seminar just last week at TMT. However, he lost via decision against hometown hero Eduard Folayang. Still, Enomoto put on a great fight and made the decision for the judges a tough one.
