Tiger Muay Thai goes 1-1 at prestigious King’s Cup fights in Bangkok Thailand

Congratulations to Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand fighter Anna Hangebring on her win against Jerry during the weekend of fights held as Sanam Luam Park in honor of the King of Thailand’s Birthday.

Anna trained long and intensely for this fight, having gone 0-2 in her previous bouts against Jerry.

This time, the promoters made each girl weigh-in prior to the fight (unlike the other two bouts), which noticeably drained Jerry’s cardio.

Anna displayed good strategy and after knocking Jerry to the mat with a dynamic strike in the 4th round and went on to win a decision after 5 hard rounds.

The other Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Phuket fighter chosen by promoters to compete during the King’s Cup weekend long event was Johnny Betts.

Betts gloved-up against tough Irishman Stephen Meleady of the Jiti Gym.  With Muay Thai champion Liam Harrison in his corner, Stephen started the fight aggressive, landing several hard body kicks as Johnny Betts charged forward into the clinch.

Heading into the 5th and final round the fight was still anyone’s to win.  When the final bell sounded, many people in the crowd were cheering Johnny as the victor, only to be disappointed when the final decision raised Stephen Meleady’s hand, giving him the win.
