Fighting in front of a Sold out Singapore Indoor Sports arena with Former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomspon and Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand alumni Grant Sandow working his corner, MMA Superstar Phil ‘NYBA’ Baroni faced UFC and Bellator veteran Yoshiyuki Yoshida of Japan.
Looking for the knockout punch, Baroni struggled to keep the fight standing as Yoshida constantly attempted takedown after takedown. With former PRIDE FC referee Yuji Shimada calling the action–and refusing to stand the fighters back up, Baroni lost an unanimous decision after three rounds.
Overall the One FC experience was amazing. MMA Legends like Bas Rutten, Rezo Gracie, Aoki, and Matt Hume attended the event, which was streamed live on Sherdog.com. The next rumored event for the One Fighting Championship is December, look for other Tiger Muay Thai fighters to be on the event fight card as One FC continues to establish themselves as the prominent MMA Promotion in Asia.
