Tiger Muay Thai scores 3 Ko’s at Patong Stadium going 3-0 for the night

It was an exciting might of fights at Phuket’s famous Patong Muay Thai stadium as 3 Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp fighter headlined the card as Autumn (USA), Dave (Norway), and Ngoo (TMT) all scored Knock-outs in their Muay Thai fights.

Ngoo scored the “KO of the Night” with a 5-star head KO head kick that completely knocked out his opponent ina good fight. Ngoo showed his love of old-school Muay Thai with a variety of techniques including spinning elbows and jumping knees, but it was the head kick that brought out the stars.

Autumn dispatched Women;s Muay Thai fighter Nongmai (2-4) with good technique and even better strayegy. Both Nongmai’s wins came by heavy handed Ko’s. First Autum established her jab, many being blocked off the big arms of Nongmai. Switching her straegy and taking advantage of her speed, Autumn feinted high then scored a series of goog lek kicks and kicks to Nongmai’s midsection. When Nongmai’s hands came down to protect the punishment to her rinbs and stomach, Autum let loose with combinations to the face and head ending the fight.

Dave scored the “Muay Thai Technique Ko of the evening” as he caught his Thai opponents kick. When the Thai dropped his non-swing arm for the kick, Dave umloaded with hard shot to the chin that left the Thai in astumblimg daze as the  referee stopped the fight.

Chantal Q & A on Kings Cup Fight and Preparing at Tiger Muay Thai

Chantal Ughi Fights for WPMO Women’s Muay thai Championship for Tiger Muay thai @ King’s Cup celebration, Bnagkok, Thailand Dec 4-6

TMT: How does it feel as a women in Thailand training at TMT and fighting for the World Title at the most prestigious Muay The event in the Kingdom of Thailand?

Chantal: I really like  training at Tiger Muay Thai. Unlike other gyms being a woman training in Thailand it’s not a problem.
The staff and the trainers are very friendly yet professional and we do have access to all the rings for pad work, clinch and sparring. I have experience training in other more traditional gyms around Thailand and I like Tiger Muay Thai the best especially being a woman.
It will be an honor for me fighting for a World Title at one of the most prestigious events in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Kings Cup.
TMT: How has your preparation been going at TMT.
Chantal: My preparation has being going quite well. The trainers have been pushing me really hard which is good and In the last week I have improved my cardio with 5/6 k. runs. I have been also sparring and clinching with guys more which is good for me to better my skill levels especially in the clinch.
I like clinching with Johnny. He is very strong and has good technique. And I like sparring with Nan and Laura.
TMT: Has there been a trainer that has stood out in preparing you for your fight?
Chantal: Kay has been pushing me quite hard and screaming at me whenever I drop my hands.
I like doing pads with Bernung though. He always makes you do double kicks.
Sometimes It’s good to do small pads with Robert to correct your technique.
And Prathet is also very good for technique classes.
TMT:Are you nervous to be fighting in front of 500,000 people and on every Tv station in Thailand?

Chantal: Yes, i am a bit nervous if I think about it, maybe I should just take it as a regular event and like Ray said, it’s gonna be fun.
TMT:How does it feel to be representing your country and TMT fighting during the celebration of the King of Thailand’s Birthday in the heart of Muay Thai?
Chantal: It makes me proud and honored. It was one of my dreams to be fighting at the Kings Cup and the Queen’s Birthday in Thailand…
Now I just have to go back to work, train hard, avoid injuries and think about winning.
Thank you. I am excited to have this opportunity.

Jon Fitch and Nate Moore MMA / Wrestling Seminar @ Tiger Muay Thai

Jon Fitch + Nate Moore MMA / Wrestling Seminar

@

MMA Phuket Training Facility

When Jon Fitch is around, you expect to see an MMA cage. However, the turnout was so great for Jon’s MMA seminar that we should have taken the cage down and added some more mats to accommodate all the Tiger Muay Thai and Training Camp guests that turned up to listen to what the All American Perdue University Wrestling Captain and UFC star, and his training partner and AKA teammate Nate Moore, had to say about wrestling and MMA during his seminar, his career as a MMA fighter in the world’s #! fight organization, his roots in fighting, eating habits, supplements, and more.

Fitch demonstrated a variety wrestling based MMA techniques to the packed MMA Phuket training facility showing he is as outstanding instructor and fighter. Step-by-step, Fitch slowly went over every move. Jon had the guests attention completely as he showed different angles, advantages, disadvantages of each position breaking down eah move and technique to it’s basic structure.
At the end of the trainng seminar, Jon went through a thorough Q & A session with MMA Phuket guests answering a variety of questions from his career, to his thoughts on steroids, to his dislike of Tuna and using certain supplements.
Overall Guests were quite pleased and Jon was gracious to take photos and sign autographs after the seminar.

After the session, MMA Phuket head coach Ray Elbe presented Jon and Nate with a little gift of framed photos of their favorite Muay Thai instructors Kru Robert and Kru Ritt.
TMT would like to take this time to say Thanks to Jon Fitch and Nate Moore, and Mike Swick, Jon’s American Kickboxing Academy teammate for recommending training with us at Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp and the great instructional seminar for MMA Phuket guests.

Autumn wins first Muay Thai fight; Jason goes 5-rounds in first fight with King’s Cup Fighter at Patong

It was a 1-1 evening for TMT as Autumn hale, randy’s wife, entered the Muay Thai ring in her first fight against Women’s Muay Thai fighter Dea (5-4) @ patong stadium on November 6, 2008. Autumn, in her first fight and bigger than Dea had the decided advantage in overall strength which the Thai tried to counter using clinch and knees, but Autumn’s stiff jab and solid knees of her own forced the referee into stopping the fight in the 2nd round as Autumn began to overwhelm the more experienced but smaller Thai.

In what was a loss, buta good fight, jason went 5-rounds with former Kings Cup fighter Ismael. Showing better conditioning, technique, and skill level, the fighter from bangkok could still not KO jason as jason took everything he had and kept moving forward but lost on points. This was a bit of a mismatch in skill level, but jason had the size advantage and height. Just goest to show, it is not always the bigger fighter that wins. But TMT was proud of jason for being able to go 5-rounds with the skilled foreigner and hold his own after a months training at TMT.
