Situated on a large coconut, banana, and rubber tree plantation on the island of Phuket, Thailand with cool breezes and plenty of shade from the tropical sun, our Muay Thai training camp has a fantastic location for training. We have three full-size Muay Thai rings and more than 18 workout stations with muay thai heavy bags, speed balls and agility balls, and Muay Thai elbow and knee workout stations. Our Muay Thai training camp has free weights with 180 kg bench and rack. We have abdominal workout area, mats, and training aids.
All of our equipment is kept in great condition, and our gym maintains a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. Our facility is brand new and modern in every aspect. We use quality Muay Thai and TWINS equipment in our gym. Our Muay Thai and MMA equipment shop carries everything you might need while training here in Thailand. From quality Muay Thai gloves and pads to mouthpieces, Muay Thai shorts (Custom made), clothing, protein shakes, to enhance training programs, our muay thai training camp has it all at great prices.

The atmosphere around the gym is full of excitement with the sounds of Muay Thai training. Tiger Muay Thai Phuket, Thailand also offers our guests discount access to Phuket Spa located just down the road from our gym. A lush tropical swimming pool with lounge chairs, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, and traditional Thai massage are available after workouts or anytime near the gym. Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim, cold drink, and massage after a hard workout. Even a fitness vacation deserves some time by the pool. A relaxing 2-hour massage is great for working out sore muscles and leaves you feeling refreshed, energized, and ready for another training session.
Phuket Spa is located close to the camp. They offer massage, sauna, steam, and swimming pool @ 100 baht per day. ( 2hr massage, pool, sauna, and steam @ 300 baht )
Our MT training program is designed and scheduled by Ajarn Mac, a Master Instructor who has fought and worked as a trainer with some of Thailand's best fighters for 38 years in Bangkok. If you want to fight like a Thai fighter....then train like a Thai fighter.
All of our guests are given a Physical / Conditioning test and skills evaluation their first day of training. A TMT Advanced Trainer will evaluate your level of conditioning and MT or MMA skills and assign you to one of our training programs: Basic / Intermediate / Advanced.
Every two weeks guests are tested on conditioning, performance, and skill level. When the Head-Trainer in each area feels you have learned or progressed enough, he will promote the guest to the next training level.

For those of our guests that are new to Muay Thai, MMA, or Martial Arts in general, we have a complete beginners training program. Learn how to punch, kick, block and defend, move, Wai Kru, and all the basic techniques of Muay Thai. Learning basic combinations, blocking and defense, and conditioning are the focus areas of the Basic Muay Thai Training Program.

For our guests that already have some experience in Muay Thai, MMA, or Martial Arts in general, we have an intermediate training program and training area. Instructors work with our guests on developing their skills, increasing conditioning level, and learning higher level techniques. Sparring, boxing combinations, clinch and conditioning are focus areas of the Intermediate training program

TMT Phuket's Advanced Training and Fighter's Program is available for guests that already have experience in Muay Thai and have trained, and/or fought Muay Thai in Thailand or in their own country.
The Advanced Training program works on training for "fighter level" conditioning, effective ring / fighting techniques and tactics, and developing speed and power.The program uses a variety of drills and training techniques, sparring,running and sprints, heavy clinch work and, mixed combinations using feet, legs, elbows, and knees in powerful combinations. The focus of the Advanced Training / Fighter's Program is to prepare guests @ the highest level for Amateur and Professional Fights.
Sparring is an important part of learning how to fight and training Muay Thai and MMA. Sparring sessions @ TMT Phuket are conducted by trainers in each of our (3) three training programs and MMA. During sparring sessions, guests will wear TWINS headgear, 18oz gloves, leg pads, mouthpiece, and groin protection. Sparring is done @ 75% speed and power. Guests will spar with other guests of same level and with our trainers. Sparring sessions are usually held (3) three times per week in each training program.
Learn MMA submission holds, guard position, mount position, locks, sweeps, takedowns, throws, escapes, and reverses that are the staple of good Jiu Jitsu in our MMA training program. We have training sessions for beginners and advanced Mixed Martial Arts fighters. Basic Submission grappling and MMA training in morning session and Advanced training in the afternoon. Our MMA trainers are experienced fighters and trainers from professional organizations like UFC; Pride; Cage Rage, King of the Cage and others
MMA Training program includes conditioning program with weight-lifting and group beach workouts. Training sessions include technique, drills, conditioning, rolling / wrestling / sparring.

Workout times are 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. for the morning session, and 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for the evening session. Guests are welcome to run with our trainers 30-45 minutes before each training session. Trainers will run a variety of routes near camp 4-8 km long. Occasionally, during the high-season, we will head down to the beach for a run and some training on the beach.The trainers run or bike with the students every morning. The morning run is about 30-45 minutes long with Kru Robert, Ngoo, Prathet, or Em. Usually, during the morning workout, students will get plenty of one-on-one time with the trainers. The trainers will watch your technique, and if needed, make suggestions and give advice about style, stance, technique, and tactics.

TMT Phuket also offers classes and personal instruction in the ancient art of Muay Boran and Krabi Krabong (Thai Sword and Baton) by Ajarn Waigoon "Oh" Pramsuwan, one of the last remaining active instructors of the Waiyu "Wind" Sect. Instructed under the highly respected Master Insoklek, Ajarn "Oh" is one of the last remaining instructors in the Waiyu tradition in Thailand. Kru O also works out everyday in our MMA program and will soon be fighting professionally in MMA in U.K. and U.S.
Food and restaurants are available all over the Chalong Village area. There many small Thai restaurants within 1-2 km of the camp that offer a variety of Thai meals and dishes at very affordable prices (30-50 baht per meal). There are also many nice foreign restaurants (Italian, German, Spanish) in the area that are reasonably priced.
Chalong has 7-11 convenience stores, European style bakeries, fresh fruit and seafood markets, and plenty of Thai vendor carts selling BBQ chicken and Pork to Thai sweet deserts, and fried chicken with asian sticky rice all at very low prices.
Phuket and Chalong have have modern pharmacies, doctor's clinics, and hospitals. There are several clinics and Doctor's Offices in the Chalong area. Guests can get prescriptions filled for just about any medication. The Phuket International Hospital (6 km from camp) near Central Shopping Plaza and Big C Shopping Mall is an ultra-modern hospital with complete medical and Dental services. Phuket has an emergency service hotline 1-9-1 for ambulance.
Internet access is available at several different Internet Cafes and shops in the Chalong area. The closest is just 200 meters from the gym. The offer high-speed (ADSL internet connection and simple supplies as well as refreshments. There several Photo printing, flash cards, phone cards, and supply shops in the Chalong area (2km from our muay thai training camp).
For guests staying at the camp, transportation and getting around Phuket is best done on a small motorbike (100-125 cc). Our camp is located on a quiet road 150 meters from the main road and a bus stop. Guests can walk to a local market and mini-mart near the camp (300 meters), but the main area of Chalong and the Marina and pier are 4 km from the camp and a long walk.
Bus fares are very affordable (10-20 baht to most parts of island and operate daily). Tuk-Tuk taxi are available on the island. Make sure you negotiate a fare before accepting ride. Motorbikes are the most affordable and convenient means of transportation in Phuket. If you are interested in renting a motorbike while in Phuket, Tiger Muay Thai can direct you to rental companies near the gym. (Passport or Driver's License needed.)

A couple of times a month, or after a student or trainer has a Muay Thai fight in Phuket or Patong. The Muay Thai camp /gym throws a BBQ party and bonfire on the sports green behind the training gym. Everyone gets together, trainers and their wives and students with their Thai girlfriends and feast on BBQ chicken and ribs. The Muay Thai trainers wives make spicy Thai salads and platters of fresh fruit, and everyone sits around the fire drinking and listening to music, and talking Muay Thai. Guests often break out a guitar or Thai drums, or play football on the sports green.

We will also throw parties in Patong, Kata and Karon for our students after their Muay Thai fights. Everyone gathers at popular local bars to celebrate a win or console a loss. The owners of the bars layout large tables with fruits and snacks for everyone. Fight nights are an exciting night for everyone at the gym. Many, if not all, of the students put on their Tiger Muay Thai Phuket, shirts and head off together to the stadiums in Patong, Karon, or Phuket City. Someone is always driving, so transportation is never a problem. At the stadium, we all sit together and cheer for our fighter and support our gym. Many times, our training camp fighters or Muay Thai trainers will face a Thai or foreigner from another local gym which can get things really loud and exciting. Gambling is legal in boxing stadiums in Thailand, and many students will place bets on themselves and other students when they fight Muay Thai.
Muay Thai fighters are known for their tattoos for many reasons. Some fighters appreciate the decorative body art, while others be live that sacred and ancient tattoos will help ward off pain and injury and protect them in their Muay Thai fights.
