There’s nothing that quite compares to getting a victory in the most elite cage in the mixed martial arts(MMA) world: the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC). That feeling became quite surreal to Tiger Muay Thai’s own pro MMA fighter, Maribek “Beckan” Taisumov(21-4) after his victory over South Korean fighter, Tae Hyun Bang, in his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore January 4th.

Feeling the itch to step back in the octagon, Taisumov was Originally set to fight a 21-fight UFC veteran in that of Gleison Tibau. However, due to an injury Taisumov now meets Michael Prazeres(17-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC).

Prazeres,a 30-year-old Brazilian made his UFC debut this past May and suffered a decision loss to Paulo Thiago. It marked the first loss of Prazeres’ 14-year career. Furthermore, he rebounded in September and earned a split-decision victory over Jesse Ronson at UFC 165.

Scheduled to be on the main card, Taisumov and Prazeres will face off this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 38 on March 23, 2014 in Natal, Brazil. The night will be headlined by the sequel fight between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson, in which Dan Henderson won by unanimous decision at UFC 139.

Cornering him will be Tiger Muay Thai MMA coach and UFC veteran, Roger Huerta. “I’m excited about his future career in the UFC,” said Huerta.

The Chechen fighter, Taisumov, has won nine of his last ten and is riding a four fight win streak before stepping into the cage in Natal, Brazil. In twenty-one career wins, he owns twenty stoppages. Taisumov will try to make it twenty-one career stoppages as he looks to make a name for himself in the UFC lightweight division.
