Congratulations Mats Nilsson of Sweden. The Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand alumni is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt and a World Nogi Champion for the FILA Grappling Sanctioning Body. Considered a rising prospect in MMA and a UFC prospect, Mats proved his potential with an impressive win against Germany’s #1 ranked Middleweight Gregor Herb last month.

Improving to 6-1-1, Mats displayed great takedown defense showcasing improved Muay Thai. The first round of the bout featured a lot of clench work against the cage, before Nilsson pulled away in the 2nd and 3rd rounds on the score cards. Administering some quality Ground and Pound from the top position, Mats did enough work in the three rounds to win a unanimous decision 30-27.

Fighting again in Switzerland this April for the Strength and Honor event, Mats Nilsson will face 14-1-1 greek standout Nikolas Solokis. An impressive performance against Nikolas will put him on the UFC’s prospect radar.
