Coup or no coup, you wouldn’t probably notice anything different and never know unless someone told you before hand! It’s been another beautiful week here in Phuket at Tiger Muay Thai. The second military coup, in eight years has left a scared feeling in many eyes outside of Thailand, but on the ground everything is pretty much as usually.

As of Thursday the 22nd of May, Thailand’s military has seized control of the country and suspended the constitution after rival factions failed in negotiations to end six months of political turmoil – resulting in the nation’s 19th coup in 82 years.

We would like to inform you that the current political situation in Thailand, has not affected the daily life here in Phuket.

The biggest adjustment of the coup is the Nationwide curfew in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travel to and from the airport is exempt from the curfew as is medical emergencies

Curfew have been lifted nationwide!

There are no army personnel patrolling the streets of Phuket, but if you are stopped by authorities remain calm and follow their instructions.

We don’t believe the coup is going to have any massive complications in Phuket, and we believe that you will enjoy your holidays in Phuket and Thailand.
