Two of Tiger Muay Thai’s MMA fight team have just been signed to the big leagues: the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) The two rising MMA stars from Chechnya, Mairbek Taisumov and Zubayra Tukhugov, have both been signed to multi-fight deals with the prestigious organization and will be competing in the early months of 2014.

“Both guys are more than deserving of their contracts, and I’m excited about their future careers in the UFC,” said UFC veteran and Tiger Muay Thai and MMA coach, Roger Huerta.

Taisumov (20-4) has spent the majority of his career fighting for M-1 Global, and is riding a three-fight winning streak into his first UFC fight in Singapore January 4th against South Korean fighter, Tae Hyun Bang(16-7), at UFC Fight Night 34. Taisumov is an exciting fighter with a penchant for finishing his opponents. He’s knocked out or TKO’d his opposition in 10 of his victories, while submitting nine others.

Zubayra Tukhugov, is a 22 year-old MMA fighter who will be making his Octagon debut after compiling a 15-3 professional MMA record on the international circuit, one that includes five wins by way of knockout or TKO.

Having started fighting professionally just three years ago, Tukhugov has amassed 18 fights. For those bad at math that’s six fights a year, which is very active for a fighter.

Tukhugov has been added to an interesting featherweight battle on the upcoming UFC Fight Night 36: “Machida vs. Mousasi” fight card, against Brazilian veteran opponent, Thiago Tavares. The bout is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

“I’m looking forward to some big fights and I’m honored to be their coach,” said Huerta.
