TMT Alumni and Martial Combat Star Ross Dallow becomes WKBF Champion by defeating Vainikolo

In a rematch of a fight from last January which saw Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt and Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand Alumni Ross Dallow take a last minute fight against top Middleweight prospect James Vainikolo and lose a decision, ‘Roscoe’ evened the score with a unanimous decision victory, which he nearly finished with a RNC submission in round 2.

After having his ‘Loss’ to Ultimate Fighter Alumni Jeremy May overturned to a ‘NC’ earlier this year, Rosco is now hoping the 84kg WKBF Championship belt he captured at Elite Fight Nite in Penrith is enough to warrant a rematch. Dallow feels Jeremy May is ducking the fight, and the fans in Australia want to see the ‘NC’ determined by a second bout.

Matt Merria and Justin Governale from Tiger Muay Thai get set to fight MMA March 26th in Pattaya Thailand

MMA is becoming a global sport, and is quickly making it’s way to Southeast Asia. Proof of that will be Saturday March 26th. While guests of Tiger Muay Thai will be enjoying the BBQ Beatdown, Ngoo Ditty will be fighting MMA in Malaysia’s very first sanctioned MMA fights, and Matt Merria along with Justin Governale will be fighting in Pattaya Thailand.

Justin Governale will be facing Mardsing Suriya of Thailand in a classic Grappler Vs. Striker.
Governale is a BJJ Blue Belt with aggressive striking, while his Thai opponent is a veteran of over 80 professional Muay thai fights. This bout is going to be Amateur with no elbows, no knees to the head, and shin pads. The winner of this bout will be Thailand’s first ever 155lbs Amateur MMA Champion.

Matt Merria is going to be fighting a Russian prospect named Yuri Sovenko. Unwilling to agree to standardized MMA rules, Yuri requested that the bout be conducted under ‘DRAkA’ rules–basically meaning that there will only be 30 seconds on the ground. Matt is a very talented grappler, and the sudden rule change has affected our gameplan, however at the end of an intense 6 week training camp Matt wanted to accept the fight even with modified rules.

These bouts will be shown live on TV within the Pattaya area. Anyone in Thailand interested in attending the event, Tixs are 500THB standing room only, 1000THB for a seat. A portion of the proceeds will go to help Earthquake victims of Japan.

UFC President Dana White rocks the Tiger Muay Thai Tshirt at UFC 128 Weign Ins. Bones Jones becomes Champion

Dana White looks good in Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Gear

With MMA in the process of becoming legal in the State of New York, UFC 128-held just across the way in New Jersey was a highly publicized fight card. Featuring a Championship bout with 24 year old Superstar Jon ‘Bones’ Jones against current UFC LHW Champion ‘Shogun’ and the introduction of Uriah Faber into the UFC promotion 128 was one of the more star packed fight cards of 2011.

During the official event weigh in’s Dana White surprised everyone by wearing a custom made Tiger Muay Thai T-shirt. The UFC and Dana White have been very supportive of the Tiger Muay Thai family, generously donating 50,000USD to cover the costs of a life saving Liver Transplant needed for the daughter of Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Phuket’s Lumpinee Champion instructor Rattanachai. TMT will also be featured in an upcoming UFC the Magazine article, which spotlights training camps for people looking to train in Combative Fitness Martial Arts around the world. (keep an eye on news stands for that)

The entire Tiger Muay Thai family would like to continue extending an offer for Dana White to come and visit the facilities and train under our Champion instructors first hand.

Having a framed picture of UFC President and MMA Pioneer Dana White wearing a Tiger Muay Thai T-shirt for the first Championship fight for Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, a fighter many consider to be the first ‘Muhammad Ali’ of the MMA era–is a priceless gift and was appreciated by everyone at the gym.
